We offer Polynesian dance classes for BOTH kids and adults, men AND women, for all ages from 4 to 90+. Check out our classes page for a catalog of available classes for beginners!

Donʻt worry! We do allow exceptions on a case-by-case basis, so if you feel that you are unsure about which class is best for you, simply reach out to us and weʻll do our best to find a solution!

If you have prior experience in Polynesian dance, you may be able to proceed beyond our INTRO class and into our Level 1 or Level 2 Polynesian dance classes. Please reach out to us about your experience and we will work with you to find which class is best suited for you!

The first step is to take a trial class with us! For first-time students, we offer a trial class on us so that you can get a feeling of what itʻs like to take classes at Hōkūleʻa Academy. You can schedule a trial class for kids or a trial class for adults!
Entertainment

We offer traditional island entertainment showcasing different Polynesian islands for all occasions from private events, festivals, weddings, and more across the midwest. Browse our most. common show packages for more details. Options for lei greeters and fire dancers are available as well.

Our simplest and most straightforward method is our online booking request system which allows you to submit details about your event and type of entertainment you’d like.
After a request has been approved, a contract will be sent out along with a security deposit to reserve the booking.

We perform at a variety of events throughout the year, most notably our shows at The Tiki Terrace on a weekly basis. Our summers are busiest, performing at Chicagoland festivals, parades, and community gatherings. Check out our events page to see when our next show is!

Yes! We are accepting applications on a rolling basis. If you have dance experience (not in Polynesian dance), we would love to invite you to apply. Dancers are provided clinics to learn Polynesian dance technique and skill, along with performance training to be up-to-par with Hōkūle’a standards. Apply today!
