    Recreational Path

    (Cultural Enrichment & Wellness)

    Designed for those seeking a weekly escape to learn culture and find community through music and dance. While there is no pressure to perform professionally, students are expected to show reverence for the culture.

    Designed for dancers mastering the art for the stage. This path leads to the Performance Team, Junior Pro Team, and the Nā Hōkū Entertainment Company. It requires high-intensity technical training and professional commitment.

    Leadership & Teaching Path

    (Legacy, Education, Income)

    Designed for dancers who aspire to become the next generation of educators. This path leads to our 3-year Apprenticeship Program, guiding dancers from student to paid staff instructor through rigorous cultural and pedagogical training.

Performance Team

Train harder. Shine brighter. Represent Hōkūleʻa.

This team welcomes dancers as ambassadors, providing additional training and stage experience while sharing their passion with the community. Members volunteer for events and showcases, promoting confidence, leadership, and artistry, and nurturing emerging performers for their future journeys.

Costume Team

Don’t just create costumes- craft the spirit of the stage.

The Costume Team is essential to the Hōkūleʻa community, consisting of parents, students, and volunteers who create beautiful, hand-crafted costumes. Their care and creativity ensure every dancer looks proud, polished, and connected to Polynesian tradition on stage.
