Ten Thousand Stars. One Ocean. The Epic Story of Polynesian Navigation.
Celebrate 16 seasons of excellence with Hōkūleʻa Academy of Polynesian Arts as we present our milestone 10th full-stage production.
Nā Hōkū (The Stars) is an immersive tribute to the Great Wayfinders, the celestial navigators who crossed the vast Pacific using the stars, winds, and waves. Journey from Hawaiʻi and Tahiti to Samoa, Aotearoa, and Rapa Nui in a vibrant celebration of the "guiding lights" that connected a civilization.
Featuring a powerful multi-generational cast of 70+ dancers (ages 4 to 70+), this production brings the heartbeat of the islands to Chicago.
